This small zoo on the western part of Montreal Island features more than 100 species of native wildlife in their natural environments. The boutique here sells mainly books on wildlife themes (bird identification, plant identification, etc.) as well as souvenirs. Like the zoo, the boutique is open 364 days a year (closed on Christmas Day). Please note that this site is located north of Highway 40 (Transcanada) and access can be difficult by public transit.

The Smith House is an impressive stone building located in the heart of Mount Royal Park and it originally served as the summer chalet for a wealthy Westmount family. The boutique here sells many guidebooks for bird watching, rock collecting, plant identification, etc as well as souvenirs of Mount Royal Park. Lessons (i.e. cross-country skiing for kids) are periodically offered here and Le Café Smith serves light meals. Equipment rental (sleds, cross country skis, snowshoes, skates) are provided nearby at the Beaver Lake Pavilion in season.
